1. Water Feature Rocks
Water feature rocks are usually large, untreated and unfinished rocks that are hand picked to look like your water
feature is a product of nature, not a product of design. Many water feature rocks have moss and other lichen still
clinging to them at the time of install. This brings a natural feel to any landscaping project that cannot be replicated
in any other way.
2. Natural Wall Stone
All natural stone can be used for many different types of installations. In this example the stone is used to compile
a wall. Sometimes the stone is used as a veneer over another type of wall. In every case it is the irregular shape and
variation of color that gives these natural stone features their visual impact.
3. Modified Natural Stone
Sometimes the beauty of natural stone can be enhanced. Saw cut stones can provide a finished, clean look to many
areas of a space. These stones are called “saw-cut tumbled” stones because they are first cut from a natural source,
then tumbled together in a roller to slightly roughen the edges back to a more natural effect. The uniform shape of
modified stones makes them perfect for steps, edging, capstones and even tables or benches.
4. Custom Natural Stone
Sometimes nature needs a little help. These customized natural stones are made to fit a need that natural shapes simply
cannot replicate. The stones shown here are cut and the edges roughened to fit the theme of the project. Other
customized stones can be used in pools, fountains, or other more architecturally structured projects. In addition
to above ground structures, some customized stones are used under the surface to delay soil erosion in and
around water features.
5. Flagstone
Flagstone is a unique variety of natural stone. These pieces are naturally flat and fairly uniform in thickness. Formed
by natural geologic strata, these stones make excellent pavement for any application, both inside the home and out.
Flagstones come in many colors from deep black to a rose-like red. The cousin of flagstone, cobblestone, is used for
the same purpose, but is usually a smaller, loaf shaped stone that provides more textured surface.
6. Decorative Boulders
Decorative boulders are like large curio pieces for your yard. Boulders can be found in just about every rock-type
on the planet. Cripple Creek Rock Company specializes in finding boulders that serve two purposes: 1) to add a
unique and exciting element to any outdoor feature, 2) to provide a spacial delimiter dividing one area, or feature
from another.
